Geoffrey Gu - Neurodiversity Awareness and Wildlife Student
A little bit about me
Hi, my name is Geoffrey! As an introduction, I am currently a wildlife biology neurodivergent Masters student at the Royal Veterinary College in London with a long-term aim of becoming a vet. I was diagnosed autistic at the age of 17, selective mutism from a very young age and previously obsessive-compulsive disorder during my teenage years. All of these have led me to have significant struggles with accessing education and social events in the past and to a certain extent now. From my own autistic experience, I know how challenging it can be when trying to fit in a neurotypical world from a social-communication viewpoint. This is why I am super passionate and motivated to help advocate and raise awareness on neurodiverse needs for the purpose of promoting more neuro-affirming educational and work environments where everyone can thrive and perform at their best.
Thank you for being here and following on my journey!
